Polish specialist Carlex Design is renowned for its extravagant interior upgrades, having crafted some stunning custom cabins for the Mustang GT and Mercedes-G500 in the past. The company’s latest bespoke interior has been revealed for the GT-R and is simply dubbed, “Godzilla,” giving the Japanese sports car a new level of luxury.
Based on the Prestige trim, the entire interior has been redesigned and manufactured. The new upholstery features a mix of leather and Alcantara materials, complemented with ambient lights to create a rousing atmosphere.
The materials combine blood-red leather and black Alcantara that emphasizes the car’s sporty character. As with Carlex Design’s other projects, the painstaking attention to detail on display is extraordinary. “As the project involved a variety of leather processing techniques, we were in our element,” the company explains. “We absolutely love challenges and strive to fulfill the most daring expectations of our customers.”
A bespoke perforation pattern was designed and made especially for the project, while the embossing in leather and Alcantara, skiving, painting, and sanded leather edges shows off the design team’s meticulous skill. Other add-ons include trimming of the rear-view mirror, additional Nappa leather and Alcantara padding applied to all compartments, a key case, and a carbon leather backpack with a tag.
“Godzilla will definitely meet both performance and aesthetic requirements of the most demanding car lovers. Let’s keep in mind that our car is our private space and should be eye-pleasing and comfortable,” Carlex says. Carlex Design hasn’t revealed any pricing details for the Nissan GT-R Godzilla conversion, but the standard car starts at $99,990.
