Year after Honda gave the Pilot a significant update for the year 2019 model, the Japanese automaker is now adding the new range-topping Black Edition trim for 2020. Based on the Honda Pilot Elite, the same as our long-term Honda, the Pilot Black Edition adds several new design cues inside and out.
The Black Edition (pictured above) is the most aggressive looking and most expensive of the Pilot trim levels. To differentiate it on the exterior, Honda has added badges to the grille and tailgate, 20-inch black wheels, and blacked-out the grille and trim pieces. Like its Ridgeline equivalent, the only color available for the Black Edition is Crystal Black Pearl. Inside, the cabin receives special red accent lighting complimented by red stitching on the seats, door panels, and steering wheel. The Black Edition also features special logos on the seats and floor mats.
Pricing for the 2020 Pilot varies drastically depending on the trim level. The base LX trim with front-wheel-drive starts at $32,645 (including a $1,095 destination charge) while the Black Edition with AWD tops out at $50,715. Some optional features include Cabin Talk (an in-vehicle announcement system), a power liftgate, wireless charging, and 4G LTE connectivity.
