2021 Toyota RAV4 First-Ever Plug-in Hybrid Revealed

Toyota has released a teaser photo of the upcoming 2021 RAV4 plug-in hybrid that will be shown in more detail at November’s Los Angeles auto show. The automaker provided few details to accompany the photo of the plug-in model but said it will be the most powerful RAV4 yet.

It looks pretty much like the regular RAV4 Hybrid, but the grille is a bit different, as is the chin spoiler. It also has vertical accent lights in the outboard grilles. Toyota also showed it in a new color called Supersonic Red.

The only other plug-in hybrid in Toyota’s lineup is the Prius Prime, so the Japanese company famed for starting the hybrid craze is getting in on the PHEV business pretty late. Expect to have more details on the 2021 RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid during the official reveal on November 20 at the 2019 LA Auto Show. Sales will likely begin sometime in 2020.
