A Bugatti Chiron is a pretty rare sight, but it’s nothing compared to the collection of cars that was recently assembled at the Château St. Jean in Molsheim, France.
Billed as a “one-of-a-kind rendezvous,” the gathering included the Centodieci, Divo and La Voiture Noire as well as the Chiron Sport, Chiron Pur Sport and Chiron Super Sport 300+.
To put things into perspective, the combined value of all six cars is €33.15 ($35.65/ £30.30) million. That’s a massive sum and the La Voiture Noire is responsible for nearly a third of the value as it’s the “world’s most expensive new car and a true unicum in the automotive realm.”
Billed as an “unparalleled” grand touring coupe, the La Voiture Noire is a one-off model that draws inspiration from the Type 57 SC Atlantic. It promises to combine the “comfort of a luxury limousine and the power of a hyper sports car.” Bugatti isn’t kidding about the latter as the model has a quad turbocharged 8-liter W16 engine that produces 1,479 hp (1,103 kW / 1,500 PS) and 1,180 lb-ft (1,600 Nm) of torque.
The second most expensive model is the Centodieci which costs €8 ($8.5 / £7.3) million and is limited to 10 units. Designed to pay tribute to the EB 110, the model has 1,578 hp (1,176 kW / 1,600 PS) and can rocket from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 2.4 seconds. Given enough room, it will eventually hit an electronically-limited top speed of 236 mph (380 km/h).
Continuing down the pricing ladder, there’s the 1,479 hp (1,103 kW / 1,500 PS) Divo which is essentially a sportier and lighter version of the Chiron. Production is limited to 40 units and it costs €5 ($5.3 / £4.5) million.
The Chiron Sport, Chiron Pur Sport and Chiron Super Sport 300+ are almost mainstream by comparison, but the latter is notable as it was the first production model to hit a speed in excess of 300 mph (490 km/h). It has aerodynamically optimized bodywork and an upgraded engine that produces 1,578 hp (1,176 kW / 1,600 PS). Production will be limited to 30 units and the first deliveries are slated to begin in mid-2021.
