Novitec Upgraded McLaren Senna To 889 HP And Improves Exhaust Sound

Novitec has lay its hands on the McLaren Senna. Their main aim is to improve the hypercar’s throttle response with their engine tune.

The tuner’s program for the supercar named after one of Formula 1’s greatest drivers includes an upgraded specification of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter engine. In stock form, the V8 pushes out an already healthy 789 horsepower and 590 pound-feet (800 Newton-meters) of torque, but Novitec has worked its magic to bump those figures to 889 hp and an enormous 655 lb-ft (888 Nm).

During our testing, the factory-spec Senna launched to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. It then took 5.0 seconds to bring up 100 mph, and another 5.4 seconds to get to 150 mph. Novitec claims that with its engine tune, the Senna will reach 62 mph in 2.7 seconds and 124 mph in 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 208 mph. The track-focused McLaren named after Aryton Senna is also the fastest car in C/D Lightning Lap history, lapping Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in 2:34.9.

The aggressive bodywork and aerodynamics of the McLaren Senna are untouched by Novitec. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear center-lock rims, wrapped in 255/30 and 325/25 Pirelli P Zero tires, are available in 72 different colors, with a brushed or polished surface.
