Wheelsandmore has built the most powerful Audi RS Q8 named ‘Goliath’. However, it didn’t take long for this hardcore SUV to attract the attention of the aftermarket tuners, which have extracted absurd amounts of extra power from Audi’s twin-turbo V8.
With the tuner’s most powerful Stage 5 kit installed, the Audi RS Q8 produces a colossal 1,010 horsepower and 921 lb-ft of torque. Yes, that makes this Audi RS Q8 more powerful than a Bugatti Veyron. Wheelsandmore also offers the same upgrade for the Audi RS6 Avant if you ever wanted to own a 1,000-hp super wagon.
The standard, 591-horsepower RS Q8 takes 3.8 seconds to reach 60 mph from a stop, and it’s the fastest SUV around the Nürburgring track in Germany. Adding 419 horses to the equation undoubtedly makes it quicker, but Wheelsandmore hasn’t published acceleration figures. It did note that, due in part to the exhaust upgrades, the Goliath isn’t street-legal in the European Union because it doesn’t comply with emissions regulations. It’s best suited to living life a quarter-mile at a time on the drag strip, or to countries with looser standards.
Wheelsandmore also offers a smartphone-controlled air suspension said to be extremely easy to install, and, as you’d expect, new-look wheels. It had to purchase a special machine to manufacture 24-inch alloys. They’re available in several colors, and they’re wrapped by the kind of tires normally found under a supercar.
This performance increase was achieved by remapping the ECU, modifying the intake manifolds, and upgrading the turbochargers with larger turbine shafts, a modified compressor unit, reinforced axle bearings, and larger inputs.
The tuner’s Stage 4 kit produces “only” 951 hp and 921 lb-ft of torque which costs 39,900 euros ($44,191) to install. The Stage 3 kit cost 14,900 euros ($16,883) with 775 hp and 781 lb-ft of torque. The Stage 2 kit with 715 hp and 685 lb-ft torque costs 9,149 euros ($10,369), and finally the Stage 1 kit is available for 2,499 euros (2,832) and increases the output to 700 horsepower and 678 lb-ft of torque.
If the Stage 5 kit adds too much power for you to handle. The upgrade costs 49,000 euros ($55,566) including installation, plus the cost of the Audi RS Q8, which starts at $113,000, bringing the total to around $168,000.
