A new aerodynamics package for the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45 models has been unveiled by the carmaker.
The AMG Aerodynamics Package includes a new front splitter, massaged rear aero vents, and a new rear diffuser. A higher-level Plus version of the kit is also available which includes a decently sized rear wing. We’re not sure of the exact aero gains associated with these new pieces but we know they make both CLA models look good.
Most notably, the kit includes a fixed rear wing finished in high-gloss black and a new piece of trim that runs under the rear diffuser and quad tailpipes.
No performance modifications come with the kit. As such, the flagship Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S retains its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at a cool 415 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. This engine is coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission channeling power through all four wheels, allowing the car to sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in as little as 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h).
Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 also uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (not the same engine) good for 302 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. It features a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission paired with an all-wheel drive system and can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in roughly 4.9 seconds and continue through to a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
It is understood that the AMG Performance Package can be ordered for €1,487 ($1,678) without the rear wing or €2,737 ($3,089) with the rear wing.
