Hennessey Performance Engineering turns the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX into a six-wheeled, Hellephant-powered monster called the Mammoth 6×6. The truck will make 1,200 horsepower.
The company will replace the V8 with a specially tuned version of the Hellephant crate engine. The supercharged 7.0-liter V8 normally produces 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS), but Hennessey’s version will deliver more than 1,200 hp (895 kW / 1,217 PS).
The Hellephant won’t be the only change as the truck will also be given a 6×6 conversion just like the VelociRaptor 6×6. As part of the makeover, the model will be equipped with six-wheel drive as well as an all-new bed which has been lengthened and features massive wheel openings.
In addition, the Hennessey team will further modify the TRX suspension for off-road duties. Though with the truck already a capable off-roader from the factory, we suspect the crux of the changes will involve handling the extra weight from the 6×6 conversion. The Mammoth will also come with exterior modifications and special interior trim; everything needed to feel extra special in a truck that already garners more attention than a drunk celebrity on-camera at an Oscars after-party.
Production will be limited to three units and pricing will start at $500,000 (£373,787 / €419,892) which includes the base Ram 1500 TRX. The company will begin accepting orders on September 4th at noon central time and it appears Hennessey is expecting the truck to sell out almost instantly.
