Ford is back with the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition which was released on Tuesday, a new range-topper offering up more power along with some upgrades designed to boost performance on the track.
The new Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition is the latest addition to the range, offering 480 HP and 634 lb-ft (860 Nm) of torque, an increase of 21 HP and 22 lb-ft over the standard GT model.
Ford targets a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds for the new Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition, as well as an EPA-estimated driving range of 235 miles (378 km). The battery pack is the same 88 kWh unit as the standard GT.
In addition to the increased torque, the Performance Edition has 19-inch Brembo brake calipers in red. There are 20-inch wheels with an Ebony Black finish and machined face, and Pirelli summer tires wrap around them. The grille is in the color Carbonized Gray.
The fastest variant of the Mustang Mach-E comes with front Ford Performance seats dressed in what the company calls ‘Performance Gray ActiveX’ material with metallic stitching and unique Miko perforated and reflective inserts, while the instrument panel features a unique aluminum applique.
Ford will offer the new Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance Edition in signature color options, including Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat, Dark Matter Gray Metallic, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, Grabber Blue Metallic, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver Metallic and Space White Metallic.
The Mustang Mach-E GT and Mustang Mach-E GT Performance will be available late next summer. Interestingly, it is also heard there will also be a Shelby variant at some point.
