2023 Bentley Continental GT and GTC S Arrives In Sporty Styling

The luxury automaker Bentley teased sharper, more responsive variants of its current Continental GT. Alongside with the convertible variant known as the Continental GTC.

The Continental GT S and Continental GTC S have been added to the line-up of the Crewe-based provider of the world’s greatest grand tourers. These, according to Bentley, are designed to make driving more enjoyable.

The new S range adjusts the Bentley grand touring recipe to center on the pleasure of driving – an opposing yet complementary emphasis to the ‘Wellbeing behind the Wheel’ concept of the recent, comfort-centric Azure range launch.

As we expect that the letter S normally denotes something more sporty, the GT and GTC S versions don’t offer any more performance. They’re only available with the V8 engine, possibly to differentiate them from the W12-powered Speed model. The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 produces 542 horsepower (405 kW / 550 PS) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque, enabling for a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of 4 seconds. The main difference is the Sports Exhaust’s beefier sound. The Bentley Dynamic Ride 48V active anti-roll system is also included in the S grade, which improves handling while also boosting road comfort.

In the S models, the V-8 breathes through a standard sport exhaust system that Bentley says amplifies the sound a bit more. The GT S and GTC S also get Bentley Dynamic Ride as standard equipment. Normally optional, it uses electric motors that actuate the anti-roll bars to help reduce body roll. An 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive remain standard.

More to the wheel, there is a new set of 22-inch finished in Gloss Black or Pale Brodgar Satin, with red brake calipers sitting behind them. Alternatively, owners can choose a different set of 21-inch wheels with a tri-spoke design that is also exclusive to the S models.

Dinamica upholstery on the steering wheel, gear lever, seat cushion and backrests, and Bentley’s leather hide on the seat bolsters, doors, instrument panel, and center console, create a unique two-tone interior for the S. Optional quilting and the S or Bentley badge stitched on the headrests distinguish the sporty seats. The lighted treadplates, new graphics for the display, and the S emblem on the dashboard are among the other changes.
