Genesis has revealed its most luxurious model, the G90 sedan, which has received a dramatic redesign for the 2023 model year, bringing it into the modern era. Some of its styling is influenced by the G80 sedan and GV80 SUV, but with a few distinctive touches that emphasize the G90’s position at the top of the company’s model hierarchy. This all-new model will be significantly more expensive.
That price puts it above the 2022 Audi A8, which starts at $86,500. To compete with its rivals, Genesis is attempting to fill its model with luxury as standard.
Buyers pay $88,400 for a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 375 hp (280 kW/380 PS) and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm) of torque to all four wheels. It also comes standard with the full suite of Highway Driving Assist safety and driver assistance features from Genesis.
The latest infotainment interface from 2023 Genesis g90 is rendered sharply on a 12.3-inch infotainment display that also includes navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio; a separate 12.3-inch display serves as a digital gauge display.
Camera-based road-reading suspension and larger, 20-inch wheels are among the features, as are power closing doors, a Bang & Olufsen stereo, and a comprehensive driver assistance and safety suite. The Genesis Digital Key 2 is available for the G90 range, and it can open the doors and start the car using a compatible Apple iPhone, Apple Watch, or Samsung phone; this key can also be shared with others. The new Genesis Mood Curator feature adjusts the sound system, ambient lighting, massage seats, fragrance system, and electric window curtains to create one of four moods in the cabin.
Meanwhile, the G90 3.5T AWD with 48V e-Supercharger costs $98,700. This increases power to 409 hp (305 kW/415 PS) and torque to 405 lb-ft (549 Nm). It also includes new technologies for a luxurious ride, such as Multi-Chamber Air suspension and rear-wheel steering and 21-inch wheels are standard.
Other tech includes an easy close power doors, rear-passenger massage seats with memory, wireless device charging for rear occupants, and Virtual Venues Live sound profiles for the 26-speaker B&O 3D Premium Audio system. This simulates the acoustics of concert halls around the world, such as Boston Symphony Hall.
Car and Driver made it clear that Genesis offer the longest warranty coverage in its class, and also includes free scheduled maintenance and other perks such as a free service where dealership staff will pick up the G90 and take it in for service on your behalf. The limited warranty is valid for 5 years or 60,000 miles, the powertrain warranty is valid for 10 years or 100,000 miles, and complimentary maintenance is valid for 3 years or 36,000 miles.
