2023 Ford F-150 Ultimate Raptor R With 700HP V8

Ford revealed the ultimate Raptor R with V8 Engine. This is not just any V8. This ultimate Raptor is powered by the supercharged V8 engine from the Mustang Shelby GT500 but not with the same output.

The Raptor R engine produces 700 hp (522 kW/710 PS) and 640 lb-ft (868 Nm) of torque, compared to the Mustang Shelby GT500’s 760 hp (567 kW/770 PS) and 625 lb-ft (625 Nm) (847 Nm). It also has two fewer horses (1.5 kW/2 PS) and ten fewer pound-feet (13.5 Nm) than the Ram 1500 TRX.

Ford installed a new pulley and recalibrated the supercharger to improve low-end and mid-range torque, which is where pickup owners will spend the majority of their time. It will help you in city driving, low-speed off-roading, and towing (max towing increases by 500 pounds with the R). Both the exhaust and the intake have been modified.

The 10-speed automatic transmission from the F-150 replaces the Mustang’s 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 10-speed automatic transmission, on the other hand, has been modified to improve performance. Ford claims that the specially tuned torque converter now includes a heavy-duty turbine damper and a four-pinion rear output assembly. This is intended to provide a smoother powertrain experience both on and off the road. The transmission calibration has also been altered, and Ford promises super-fast shifts up and down the gearbox.

Ford created new cast stainless steel exhaust manifolds with the goal of improving durability. The exhaust system includes a new valved pass-through muffler design that replaces the V6’s trumpet design and allows for both quiet and (very) loud modes. It also gets a wider air intake inlet, which increases air volume by 66 percent, as well as a new conical air filter. The most recent changes from Mustang to truck concern oil management. Ford added a one-of-a-kind oil cooler and filter, as well as a deeper oil pan that allows you to send it up steep grades while maintaining proper engine oil cooling.

According to Ford, the super truck was inspired by Baja off-roaders, so a serious suspension was a must. The Raptor R has a five-link rear suspension with extra-long trailing arms to help maintain axle position over rough terrain, as well as a Panhard rod and 24-inch coil springs for stability. The FOX Live Valve shocks were tuned to provide a good balance of ride quality and roll control both on and off the road.

The dampers are electronically controlled, with height sensors monitoring terrain conditions and adjusting tuning as needed. Finally, the front wheel travel is 13 inches (330 mm) and the rear wheel travel is 14.1 inches (358 mm). Drivers can choose the “Baja” mode, which increases the front spring rate by 5% for a better ride quality, thanks to that fancy electronic suspension. The Raptor R has 13.1 inches (333 mm) of ground clearance regardless of mode, thanks in part to standard 37-inch tires that come standard. carscoops

The Raptor R also has Normal, Quiet, and Sport modes(Apart from Baja), which adjust the active valves in the dual exhaust system, which has a true pass-through muffler.

As previously stated, you’ll notice a number of visual differences with the R right away. A Code Orange R logo sits in the grille, and Ford paints a number of previously unblacked-out items black, including the grille, bumpers, and fender flares. The hood has a one-inch-taller bulge than the V6 Raptor, as well as a graphic that reads “Supercharged V8.” If you look closely, Ford’s graphic pattern is simply a series of 8s. The broken-up pieces are meant to resemble cracked desert earth, where the Raptor R will feel most at home.

On the outside, you’ll have a choice of eight colors, but Avalanche Gray (pictured above) and Azure Gray Tri-Coat will be Raptor R exclusives. Antimatter Blue is also shown in the reveal photos. Autoblog.

The Raptor R’s interior features standard Recaro seats upholstered in black leather and Alcantara. The doors, media bin door, and upper parts of the instrument panel are all made of real carbon fiber. It also has a 12-inch infotainment screen with SYNC 4 technology that can receive updates over the air and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

When the going gets tough, a suite of technology will come in handy. Trail Turn Assist effectively reduces your turning radius, while Ford Trail Control functions similarly to an off-road cruise control. Meanwhile, Trail 1 Pedal Drive automatically slows the truck down when the driver takes their foot off the throttle.

Orders for the most powerful F-150 Raptor ever offered from the factory is opened already. Prices for the super truck begin at $109,145, including destination and delivery charges, which is nearly $37,000 more than the 450hp, 3.5L V6 EcoBoost-powered 2022 F-150 Raptor ($72,350 including destination), which goes on sale this fall.
